Track 08: Geriatric Dentistry
Geriatric dentistry or Geriodontics is delivery of older people dental care involving the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of problem associated with normal aging and age-related disease. Geriodontics is a part of interdisciplinary team with other health care professional. The dental disease that the elderly are particularly prone to root caries, attrition, periodontal disease, missing teeth because of earlier neglect, oral cancers, mucosal lesions, oral ulceration, poor quality of alveolar ridges and rampant caries.
